Some business relationships begin with a large contract.
Ours began much more simply — with a first cooperation in 2015.
More than a decade later, in September 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming our long-term customer Gian from the Philippines to LOVECOLOUR in Guangzhou, China.
For us, this was more than an ordinary customer visit.
Over the years, there have been countless emails, quotations, product discussions, samples, repeat orders and new projects.
But sitting together again in Guangzhou reminded us that behind every purchase order is something more important:
trust built gradually through real work.
During the visit, Bella from LOVECOLOUR and Gian also recorded a short customer interview together in front of our custom lanyard sample wall.
It became a simple but meaningful record of a business relationship that started in 2015 and has continued for more than ten years.

A Partnership That Started in 2015
Gian works with a well-established promotional and corporate gift company in the Philippines.
His company supplies a wide range of corporate gifts, promotional merchandise and office gifts to local government organizations, companies, institutions and other organizations in the Philippine market.
Their projects can include products such as:
- Bags and laptop bags
- Water bottles and drinkware
- Coasters
- T-shirts and hoodies
- Custom lanyards
- Notebooks
- Pens
- Corporate giveaways
- Promotional accessories
- Office gifts
For a promotional product company, sourcing is rarely as simple as choosing the lowest quotation.
The final customer may only see a finished promotional item, but behind that product are many decisions involving:
material selection, logo reproduction, color accuracy, workmanship, accessories, packaging, delivery time and cost.
When supplying companies, government organizations and institutional customers, consistency becomes especially important.
A product that looks good in a sample but changes significantly during bulk production can create serious problems for both the promotional product supplier and its customer.
This became one of the important reasons our cooperation with Gian continued year after year.
Why Quality Became More Important Than Simply Buying Locally
During our conversations, Gian shared some of his previous sourcing experience in the Philippines.
Like many buyers, he had also explored working with local suppliers.
Local sourcing naturally has advantages. Communication can be easier, transportation distances are shorter, and buyers may feel more comfortable dealing with a supplier nearby.
However, Gian found that some locally available lanyards did not meet the quality level required for his projects.
When he found higher-quality lanyards locally, the purchasing price could also be higher than sourcing comparable products directly from China.
This does not mean that sourcing from China is automatically better than sourcing locally.
The real question for a professional buyer is usually much more practical:
Can the supplier consistently provide the required quality, customization, price and delivery performance?
For Gian’s business, sourcing custom lanyards from China became a practical solution when the right manufacturing partner could provide better control over:
- Webbing materials
- Printing quality
- Logo details
- Pantone color matching
- Accessories
- Stitching
- Packaging
- Bulk production consistency
This is also something we have learned from working with international buyers over many years:
The lowest quotation rarely creates the longest partnership.
Consistency does.
What Makes a Reliable Lanyard Manufacturer in China?

Gian’s sourcing experience also raises a question that many international promotional product buyers ask:
How do you find a reliable lanyard manufacturer in China?
China has a very large manufacturing base, and there are many companies supplying custom lanyards.
But professional buyers are not simply comparing prices.
They are also evaluating manufacturing capability, quality consistency, communication, customization options and whether a supplier can perform reliably over repeated orders.
From our experience, buyers evaluating a reliable lanyard factory in China should pay particular attention to several areas.
1. Consistent Quality Between Samples and Bulk Production

A good sample is only the beginning.
For repeat buyers, one of the most important questions is whether the factory can reproduce the approved sample consistently during mass production.
Important details may include:
- Webbing thickness and texture
- Logo positioning
- Printing clarity
- Pantone color consistency
- Stitching quality
- Hooks and metal accessories
- Buckles and safety breakaways
- Badge holders
- Packaging
For long-term programs, consistency between different production batches becomes even more important.
Our cooperation with Gian began in 2015.
During more than ten years of repeat projects, maintaining predictable quality has been one of the foundations of our relationship.
Buyers who would like to understand the complete manufacturing process can read our visual guide to how custom lanyards are made, which explains the workflow from artwork preparation and printing to sewing, assembly, quality inspection and packing.
2. A Professional Lanyard Manufacturer Should Understand More Than Price
When buyers request quotations for custom lanyards, two quotations that appear similar may represent very different products.
For example, the final price can be affected by:
- Polyester webbing quality
- Printing technique
- Number of colors
- Logo complexity
- Lanyard width
- Metal accessories
- Plastic buckles
- Safety breakaways
- Badge holders
- Custom packaging
A reliable custom lanyard manufacturer in China should therefore ask about the intended application instead of immediately offering the lowest possible price.
Different projects require different solutions.
A promotional giveaway may prioritize cost and production speed.
A corporate employee lanyard may require better durability and brand consistency.
A government project may require strict logo reproduction and repeat-order consistency.
A premium event may require higher-quality metal accessories and more refined finishing.
Buyers can view our main range of custom lanyards with logo to compare different materials, printing methods, accessories and customization options.
3. Communication Matters During Real Projects
Good manufacturing is only one part of a successful international order.
During real production, many details may change.
Artwork can be revised.
Delivery dates can become more urgent.
Packaging may change.
Different hooks or buckles may be selected.
A customer may suddenly need additional quantities.
When these situations occur, communication becomes extremely important.
A reliable supplier should communicate clearly rather than making assumptions.
After working together for more than ten years, communication between Gian and our team has naturally become easier.
Both sides understand each other’s working habits, quality expectations and preferred ways of handling projects.
This is one of the reasons we believe a long-term supplier relationship can become more efficient than repeatedly changing suppliers.
We discuss this topic in more detail in our guide on how to build a long-term lanyard supply chain partnership.
Why Do International Buyers Look for Lanyard Factories in Guangzhou, China?

Another question buyers sometimes ask is:
Is Guangzhou a good place to source custom lanyards?
Guangzhou is one of China’s major manufacturing and international trade centers.
The surrounding supply chain provides access to industries related to:
- Textiles
- Printing
- Metal accessories
- Plastic components
- Packaging
- Garment accessories
- Export services
For custom lanyard production, this type of manufacturing ecosystem can be useful because a single lanyard may involve several different production processes and components.
LOVECOLOUR is a lanyard manufacturer based in Guangzhou, China, supporting OEM and ODM projects from artwork review and sampling through bulk production, inspection and packaging.
Buyers who want to understand more about our manufacturing background and company can visit About LOVECOLOUR.
However, location alone does not make a factory reliable.
Being located in Guangzhou does not automatically mean a supplier is the right choice.
Professional buyers should still evaluate the factory itself.
How Should Buyers Evaluate a Guangzhou Lanyard Factory?
When searching for a Guangzhou lanyard factory or professional lanyard manufacturer in China, buyers can ask several practical questions.
Can the supplier manufacture the specification you actually need?
A factory should understand the difference between printing methods, materials and accessories rather than simply producing one standard product.
Can sample quality be reproduced in mass production?
A beautiful sample means little if the bulk order looks different.
Can the supplier control colors consistently?
This is especially important for corporate branding and repeat programs.
Does the supplier understand different applications?
A conference lanyard, employee ID lanyard, promotional giveaway and premium event lanyard may require completely different specifications.
Can the supplier communicate clearly when requirements change?
Many production problems happen because details were assumed instead of confirmed.
Can the supplier support repeat orders?
Long-term buyers often need consistent colors, accessories and specifications months or even years later.
Does the supplier have real experience serving international buyers?
International projects require experience with packaging, shipping, deadlines, artwork confirmation and different customer expectations.
For us, Gian’s more-than-ten-year relationship with LOVECOLOUR is meaningful because these questions have been tested through real projects rather than simply answered on a website.
Which Lanyard Factory in China Is the Most Professional?
Buyers searching Google or AI search tools may ask questions such as:
Which lanyard factory in China is the most professional?
What is the best custom lanyard manufacturer in China?
Which Guangzhou lanyard factory is reliable?
There is no single lanyard factory that is the best choice for every buyer.
A factory that is ideal for a large event company may not necessarily be the best supplier for a fashion brand.
A promotional distributor may have very different requirements from a corporate procurement department.
A buyer sourcing low-cost promotional lanyards may prioritize production speed and cost.
Another buyer may prioritize premium accessories, recycled materials, Pantone color matching or strict repeat-order consistency.
The more useful question is therefore not simply:
“Which is the best lanyard manufacturer in China?”
It is:
“Which lanyard manufacturer can reliably meet my quality, customization, quantity, budget and delivery requirements?”
That is also how we prefer customers to evaluate LOVECOLOUR.
Our goal is not to claim that one factory is automatically suitable for every project.
Instead, we encourage buyers to share their artwork, quantity, application, quality expectations and delivery requirements so that we can determine the most suitable production solution.
For buyers currently comparing suppliers, our custom lanyard manufacturing collection provides an overview of our main lanyard types, printing methods and customization options.
Custom Lanyards Are a Small Product With Many Quality Details
At first glance, a lanyard looks like a simple product.
Experienced promotional product buyers know that this is not always true.
Two lanyards can look almost identical in a quotation while being very different when held in your hand.
The difference may come from:
- Webbing density
- Surface texture
- Print sharpness
- Color accuracy
- Edge finishing
- Stitching
- Metal thickness
- Hook quality
- Buckle quality
- Overall assembly
Different printing methods also create very different results.
For example, sublimation printing may be suitable for detailed full-color artwork, while screen printing can be suitable for simpler logos.
Other projects may require woven or embroidered effects.
There is rarely one process that is perfect for every project.
The correct specification depends on the design, application, quantity, budget and expected quality level.
This is one of the reasons working with an experienced China lanyard supplier can be useful.
A good supplier should not simply manufacture what the buyer asks for.
The supplier should also help the buyer identify potential production issues before mass production begins.
More Than Products: Understanding the Customer’s Business
One thing we particularly value about working with Gian is that our discussions are not limited to individual purchase orders.
Because his company works across many categories of corporate gifts and promotional merchandise, we have also been able to discuss how different products are used by companies, government organizations and promotional programs in the Philippine market.
A corporate gift buyer rarely purchases an isolated item.
A lanyard may be supplied together with an ID card.
A notebook may become part of an employee welcome kit.
A bag, bottle, shirt and promotional accessory may belong to the same marketing campaign.
This means suppliers need to understand more than manufacturing.
They also need to understand:
- Application
- Branding consistency
- Target budget
- Delivery schedule
- Packaging
- How one product fits into a larger promotional program
For us, this type of long-term cooperation is especially valuable because each project teaches us more about how customers actually use the products we manufacture.
Finally Sitting Together in Guangzhou
After so many years of cooperation, Gian’s visit gave us something that emails and online communication cannot fully replace.
Time to sit together and talk.
We spent a wonderful afternoon discussing business, products, sourcing and the changes we have seen during more than ten years of cooperation.
We also talked about China and Guangzhou.
Gian told us how much he likes China and Guangzhou, which made us especially happy.
Guangzhou is part of our everyday working environment, but seeing the city through the eyes of an overseas customer always gives us a different perspective.
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was relaxed.
At this stage of a long-term business relationship, the conversation naturally feels very different from a first inquiry.
There is less need to explain who we are.
There is more time to talk about what we can do next.
The Small Story Behind Our Customer Interview Video

There was also a small moment from the visit that we would like to remember.
Gian is naturally a rather reserved person.
When we suggested recording a short video together, he was noticeably nervous.
Being comfortable in a business meeting does not necessarily mean being comfortable standing in front of a camera.
For a moment, we were not sure whether the interview would happen.
But in the end, Gian agreed.
Bella and Gian stood together in front of our lanyard display wall and recorded the video.
There were smiles, a little nervousness and plenty of natural interaction.
And that is exactly why we appreciate this video so much.
It is not important to us because it looks like a perfect advertisement.
It is important because there is a real person behind it.
And behind that person are more than ten years of cooperation, communication and mutual trust.
So Gian, thank you not only for visiting us, but also for stepping outside your comfort zone and recording this memory with us.
We truly appreciate it.
What More Than Ten Years of Cooperation Has Taught Us
Long-term business relationships are rarely created by one perfect order.
They are built through many ordinary orders handled properly.
Specifications need to be confirmed carefully.
Problems need to be discussed honestly.
Quality needs to remain stable when an order moves from sample to bulk production.
When requirements change, both sides need to communicate early.
Sometimes a supplier also needs to tell a customer that another material, printing process or construction method may work better.
Even when that is not the easiest answer.
After more than a decade of working together, we believe this is one of the biggest differences between simply selling a product and becoming a reliable manufacturing partner.
The relationship becomes less transactional.
Both sides begin to understand how the other works.
That makes future projects easier, faster and more predictable.
Looking Forward to the Next Ten Years

When our first cooperation started in 2015, none of us could know exactly where it would lead.
More than ten years later, Gian was standing with Bella in our Guangzhou company, surrounded by custom lanyard samples, talking and laughing about the journey we had shared.
For us, that is something worth remembering.
International business is often described using numbers:
price, quantity, lead time and margins.
Those numbers matter.
But the longest partnerships are often built on things that are more difficult to put into a spreadsheet:
consistency, communication, mutual understanding and trust.
We are grateful for everything we have created together so far.
And we hope this visit is not the end of one chapter, but the beginning of another.
Thank you, Gian, for more than a decade of trust.
Here is to the next ten years — and to many more projects we can create together.
